Frequently Asked Questions
What is the maximum file size?
Free accounts can upload files up to 2 GB each. There is no limit on the number of files you can upload.
How long are files stored?
Files are stored for 30 days by default. You can set a shorter expiration if needed (1 hour, 24 hours, 7 days). After expiration, files are permanently deleted from our servers.
Do I need an account?
No. You can upload and share files without creating an account. However, registered users get additional features like file management, custom expiration, and usage statistics.
Is my data encrypted?
Yes. Files are encrypted using AES-256-GCM in your browser before uploading. The encryption key is part of the shareable link fragment (after the # symbol), which is never sent to our servers. We use TLS 1.3 for all connections.
Can I password-protect a file?
Yes. When uploading, you can set an optional password. Recipients will need to enter the password before they can download the file.
What happens if I lose my download link?
If you uploaded without an account, we cannot recover the link. The encryption key is only in the link itself. With an account, you can find all your uploads in the dashboard.
Which file types are supported?
All file types are supported. We do not restrict or inspect file contents due to our end-to-end encryption. Abuse reports are handled through a separate mechanism.
Is there an API?
Yes, we offer a REST API for developers. Check our documentation at /docs for details on authentication, upload endpoints, and rate limits.
Where are your servers located?
Our primary infrastructure is in Finland and Germany, with edge nodes in the Netherlands and France. All data centers are ISO 27001 and SOC 2 certified.
